 In a small gypsy community in the town of Sabolciu, typical houses are constructed of dirt floors, mud walls, and tin roofs. Several children and their families face cruel poverty living in these houses without electricity and running water. A little girl named Elena, and her other four siblings roam the village street searching for food. It is winter and they are without proper shoes, socks, and warm clothing. Common health problems in this village include parasites, malnutrition, diarrhea and respiratory infections. Many adults in this village face unemployment, but some work as day laborers and earn the equivalent of $150 per month. This village is in need of a school, vocational training, and employment opportunities.
 Pathway to Joy Ministries entered this village three years ago with a desire to reach out to this community and to enter into the lives of these suffering children and families. We began our work with them sharing about the love of Jesus Christ, and his amazing love for them. We delivered food packages, and ran children’s VBS programs. Within a year, God provided the resources for our ministry to build a church for them in the center of the village. God’s light shines brightly in this village today. Although there is still much poverty and suffering, a spark of hope has been ignited, and we move forward in faith.
PTJM is currently building an educational and development center across from the church to offer educational support and vocational training for the children and their families. Once forgotten children and families now have a loving church community and hope for a brighter future.

It costs $100 per month ($1,200 per year) to support a needy child in our program. You can help by offering to provide a monthly pledge of $30, $50, or $75, or you can provide the entire amount for one child at $100 per month.
Your monthly sponsorship will provide a child with:
• Nutritious food
• Critical health care
• Clothing
• Education and tutoring
• Spiritual and character Development
 But more importantly, you are giving a child and their family a critical opportunity to escape their life of poverty, disease, and despair. As your child grows up, he will come to know you by name and will be praying for you daily. Through sponsoring a child, you can change their life, impact their community, and give them a FUTURE.
Sponsors will receive a photo and profile of their child, along with an annual progress update. They will also have the ability to communicate by writing letters to their sponsored child.
