Story
How does an abandoned child or young person survive alone?
What causes a young teen to run away and choose a cold street over
a warm bed at the orphanage? Fear, terror, and uncertainty consume
the hearts of over 100,000 children living in state institutions
throughout Romania. Romania’s orphaned children have no parents
to care for their most basic needs. Countless children find themselves
exposed to a harsh existence of sorrow and brokenness.
Sorrow and brokenness take on many disguises,
and Pathway to Joy is dedicated to stepping in to help rescue, restore,
and provide hope for these orphans and needy children that desperately
need to know that they matter to God and to us.
But that can only happen if God’s people decide
to take action.
Our Dream
This past fall, God inspired our ministry to start a children’s
choir with 10 of these orphaned children, and to begin the journey
of taking them from silence, loneliness, and rejection into a world
of music, hope, and faith. These children and young people are the
voice of Romania’s abandoned children.
Our goal for this tour is to raise awareness of their story, and
to raise the resources needed to build or purchase a “Safe
PLACE.” This emergency assessment home will provide temporary
protective housing, while we raise up more foster families to receive
these orphaned children into their families – to love, nurture,
and prepare them for a secure and promising future.
Your Response

The question is not, “Should I help an orphan child living
beyond our borders?” but rather, “How can I help change
this child’s destiny forever?”
It costs $250,000 to purchase and furnish a 4,000 square foot SafePLACE
home for 8-10 children in Romania. You can get involved in supporting
this dream with a one-time gift towards this overall cost, or you
can provide a monthly pledge of $30, $50, $75 or more towards the
ongoing operational expenses of running SafePLACE.
